Provost’s Office, Office of Research encourage nominations of outstanding faculty for internal awards

The Provost’s Office and the Office of Research encourage nominations of outstanding faculty for the following 2022 – 2023 internal faculty awards, with deadlines noted in parenthesis:

The awards above are listed chronologically by nomination deadline. For full information on the nomination criteria and procedures for each award, please see the guidelines linked in the award descriptions. Please note that the eligibility requirements for the Meigs’ Professorship have been revised this year to focus upon the instructional achievements of senior faculty (i.e., those with 10+ years as tenure-track faculty), while the Russell Award remains focused on the accomplishments of faculty earlier in their careers (i.e., those with 3-10 years as tenure-track faculty). The Provost’s Office website provides guidance to faculty as to which awards would be appropriate to pursue during various stages of their career.

Nominations for the awards listed above are processed through Deans’ Offices and/or Centers and Institutes, as noted in the guidelines. Units may set earlier due dates to allow for an internal selection/approval process. Faculty should communicate with administrative offices, and vice versa, concerning internal college procedures and deadlines.

The internal awards listed above are complemented by additional awards administered by the offices of Instruction, Public Service and Outreach, and Diversity and Inclusion, as well as many other units across campus. Internal awards are an excellent means of preparing faculty for future nominations for external awards.
