Global Georgia Initiative – Humanities in Place
Funded by a major grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Humanities in Place integrates student research into place-based projects that create significant partnerships with diverse communities. Humanities in Place is focused on four projects in two places, Athens-Clarke County and McIntosh County (Darien and coastal Georgia).

- Franklin Residential College at Gospel Pilgrim Cemetery (Athens-Clarke County, Georgia)
- The History of Slavery at UGA (Athens-Clarke County, Georgia)
- Huron Smith in Georgia (McIntosh County, Georgia)
