Spanish minor Finn Walsh named a 2026 Marshall Scholar
Congratulations to Finn Walsh, a senior Honors student from Atlanta, who has been named UGA’s newest Marshall Scholar. The scholarship, which allows up to three years of fully funded graduate study at any university in the United Kingdom, is among the most selective graduate awards for Americans. Walsh will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in genetics and a minor in Spanish through the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. She has conducted undergraduate research in infectious disease through the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO), with the majority of her work in the Odum School of Ecology. Walsh represents the latest example of a strong trend among UGA students who are awarded major international scholarships: the inclusion of the humanities and/or arts in a broader course of study.
