Tremendous thanks to everyone involved with making the Nov. 8 Spotlight • Slingshot concert such a glorious success, especially to those of you who attended.
An estimated 2,000 people came out to College Square in downtown Athens for our signature event in UGA’s 2014 Spotlight on the Arts festival, and they saw a marvelous concert by five enormously talented musical acts.
The talents of dozens of UGA students were on display, as well: the production was staffed almost entirely by undergraduates in the Music Business Certificate Program of the Terry College of Business, and student musicians from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music made up most of the orchestral section in the all-star performance of Big Star’s legendary Third album that headlined the show.
