New landscape photographs by Michael Lachowski on display at Willson Center

An exhibition of works from a new series of landscape photographs by Michael Lachowski, alongside a photo series of clouds, is currently on display at the Willson Center. The exhibition is open to the public during business hours (9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday), but those interested in viewing the show are advised to email Winnie Smith (wsmith78@uga.edu) or Dave Marr (davemarr@uga.edu) to confirm that the gallery space will be open and not in use before visiting. A public opening reception will be held on Wednesday, April 30 from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
The new color photos feature nature at its least groomed and grandiose, exploring a density and variety that we can only barely comprehend, much less represent through art. Clouds are equally dynamic, and as beautiful as they are forgettable. This show a glimpse of ephemeral and intangible beauty. A takeaway poster from the new series will be available for free.
Michael Lachowski is an artist and photographer, graphic designer and was the bass player for the well-known Athens band, Pylon. Lachowski works in the public relations department at the Georgia Museum of Art.
This exhibition was organized by Didi Dunphy, an artist and curator living in Athens and Los Angeles.
